Come celebrate us reaching our initial grant matching goal at the UFO Factory in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood this Sunday, Oct. 30. DJ Yeti aka the Detroit Gospel Reissue Project's own Mike McGonigal, will DJ gospel records for four hours straight. A large percentage of the records played this Sunday will be Detroit area gospel 45s and LPs.
Here is a link to the Facebook page for the event. The gospel brunch actually happens on the last Sunday of every month, and is usually DJ'ed by McGonigal solo. This year, both Adam Stanfel and Mike Hurtt have helped to run it when McGonigal has been away. Stanfel and Hurtt are each helping to produce/oversee separate releases for the DGRP. The food is good at UFO's brunch, and you generally do not have to wait, unlike anywhere else in the world where the word "brunch" happens.
Life is good, friends. We are so pleased about this, and cannot wait to really hit the ground runnigng with this project. More soon!
